My goodness the new season is almost upon us.
I must wish a warm welcome to all new bowlers and members, as well as the not so new but very welcomed seasoned veterans.
I don't know about you, but I am very much looking forward to the start, even though short mat was very successful over the winter, it’s not like the outdoors.
The chance to meet old and new friends with a bit of leg pulling on the green.
Talking of which, our green this year is a little delicate on the edges especially on the far edge where the root barrier was installed so everyone PLEASE, PLEASE keep off the edges and do not sit on the edge of the rinks.
For the first couple of months of the season the green will only be used in one direction, back and forth across the face of the clubhouse, this is too encourage new grass growth on the repaired section, so please use the green considerately.
Only one more thing to say and that is happy bowling everyone, enjoy all of your games and don’t forget to put your names down for the friendlies.
